Current Project
- Project Name: “Social Networks, job search and regional labour market outcomes”
Year 2005 – Current
The project is motivated by the observation that despite robust economic growth in Australia since the early 1990s, spatial concentrations of unemployment remain a serious regional problem. The main aim of the project is to ascertain whether asymmetries in social network structure exist in labour markets characterised by high and low unemployment clustering, and the extent to which social networks explain such clustering dynamics.
